Best Microsuction Ear Wax Removal Clinic In Northwest London
The Microsuction Ear Wax Removal Network was founded by Jason Levy, an Audiologist who has specialised in ears for 15 years. We only do ears, and can advise you and provide help for hearing loss, tinnitus and ear wax blockages. All of our practitioners have been trained and certified to be competent in the microsuction ear wax removal technique.
Microsuction is widely considered to be the safest method of ear wax removal, and considerably safer than irrigation or syringing. We use special microscopes that allow us to see inside your ear canal with both eyes, giving a wide field of view as well as depth perception. This enables us to very accurately target the ear wax and avoid sensitive parts of your ear. We then use a very gentle medical suction unit that uses a regulated low pressure suction that safely and gently removes your ear wax.
If your ears aren't blocked, we will perform a hearing test and/or provide advice on ear health and what your next steps should be.
However, if you do have ear wax, we have a 99.8% success rate at removing 100% of the ear wax blockage, and we will do our best to remove your ear wax safely and painlessly. Where we are unable to remove 100% of the wax, we are usually able to remove 90-95% of the wax, and a few days of applying Earol should loosen the remaining 5-10%. In very rare cases, you will need to book a second appointment. The usual reason for incomplete wax removal is impacted ear wax, and you can increase your chances of a successful 100% wax removal procedure by applying two squirts of Earol twice a day for four to five days prior to the procedure in order to slightly soften the wax. We recommend that you don't use cotton wool as this will draw the oil away from the ear wax. Earol is sterile pharmacy grade olive oil and is supplied in a sealed spray bottle. Although olive oil is very gentle, the spray droplets penetrate wax more efficiently than drops. We recommend Earol for this reason. Sometimes, however, because the ear wax is so hard and has been there for so long, 4 or 5 days of Earol aren't enough, so a different product such as Waxsol may be more effective. In most cases, if the ear wax is not sufficiently softened for microsuction to be effective, we can use the dry instrument remove technique to remove the ear wax instead.
